Plot assignment:

Plots will be leased from Faith United Church, Oswego, NY 13126
-
Lease signers are responsible for the annual fee and upkeep of plot. Spouse of signer may sign agreement as well.

Only one lessee per plot.

Lease signers may not have more than one plot.
-
The same plot may be renewed from year to year if the plot holder is in good standing, (has kept the plot in satisfactory condition during the year.)

Plot exchange must be approved by the Community Garden board.

Plots that are exchanged must be prepared for the new gardener in no more than 30 days.

Gardeners are required to keep the Board informed of their contact information (current address, phone number and e-mail).

New gardeners must be involved in the hands -on cultivation of their plot.

Garden plots that are not renewed will be assigned to new gardeners according to the established waiting list.

New plot holders must begin their gardens within 30 days of the designated season. Season will be determined by the Board.

A roster of gardeners will be shared with members each year.
Plot Care:
-
Plots must be maintained in an acceptable manner as determined by the Board. (This includes weeding, watering and general care).

There will be no unsightly storage or poor garden conditions allowed.
-
Vegetables, flowers and herbs will be allowed, no bushes or trees other than roses.

Plants that become infested with insects or disease must be removed to protect other plants.

Produce must be harvested and not left to rot on the vine. Any garden waste must be deposited in compost bin.

Trellises and stakes of under 5 feet will be permitted if they do not shade other plants.

Organic gardening is encouraged.

Gardeners are required to remain on site for watering to prevent excessive water use.

All loose materials must be adequately stored or disposed of.

Compost bin must be closed after use.
Responsibilities:

The garden will close at sundown. People will not be permitted to garden after this time.

Gardeners may not harvest from another person’s plot.
-
Glass containers are not permitted in the garden area for safety reasons.

Guests are the responsibility of the plot holder.

Young children are not permitted in the garden without an adult.
-
Loud music is not permitted.
-
Modifications of the garden may not be made without the Board’s permission.
Noncompliance:
Non-compliance will result in:

A verbal warning
-
A written warning
-
Dismissal notice from the Board.
Annual Membership fee: $25.00 – Payable to Faith United Church
